Ivy S. describes the ambiance as “going through puberty,” suggesting that while the staff and certain dishes shine, there's potential for refinement in decor and overall atmosphere. This review is strictly for their Happy Hour (Mon-Fri, 4:00-6:00pm). I was in with a friend and our kids last Friday evening, and it happened to be during Happy hour. Vineyards offers a very nice limited Happy Hour menu consisting of mainly appetizers, beer, wine, and house brand cocktails. My kid and I ordered the quesadilla, Mac and Cheese, and I had a 9oz glass of pinot noir. Our food was hot, and freshly made, and everything tasted really yummy. A the end, My bill was only $14.00 :-), and because our service was very fast and friendly (especially since we were two moms with five kids between us), and I was super happy with price tag too; I left a really good tip. Thank you ,waiter-who's name I've forgotten-I've been a chef for my entire adult life, and I know what a pain in the butt moms with kids can be! I can't speak to the main dishes or desserts at dinner time, but if you are looking for a good happy hour with good service then Vineyards is a good place to start.

It feels like this restaurant is going through puberty or something. A little rough around the edges. Kind of awkward and gangly. Yet, can be so nice at moments that you feel like there's still hope. The tables were dirty and made from some strange molded plastic material that I couldn't tell if the dirt was new or just stains making them dirty. The seating area is inside the little atrium area near the Koi Pond.****** We started with the Calamari. Which was very, very fresh. It was small delicate pieces that were not overly battered. The Cocktail Sauce was jarred. Cant forget the first cocktail, a Cosmo. A regular old cocktail. They don't have a custom cocktail menu here. Also, they serve all of their "Up" drinks in glasses that you would, I guess, serve some type of blended drink like a daiquiri or maybe a Margarita. I went with the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. I adored the micro greens that came on my sandwich. Who doesn't? Am I right? They're so lil' and cute. There were also some nicely cooked Red Peppers. It was all in all a very nicely made sandwich. Very original from what I was expecting. My husband got the Skirt Steak which came with a salad and fries. He shared with the lil' guy at the table. He said it was meh. I'm not sure what that means to him. Since they didn't have a cocktail menu we asked the bartender, who was also our server, if he was up for a challenge. I am known in some circles as the "Cocktail Girl". My husband is like me and bigger and can imbibe more than I do. We are quite the Cocktail judging team. This bartender asked us what we liked and took that info and came back with one of the best original Cocktails we have had. German Chocolate Cake Cocktail. Sounds sugary and sweet. No, no, no. It was a rich, starchy flavored drink, that was clear. I took a photo of it if you don't believe me. It was excellent. It surpassed our challenge and this bartender gets the gold star for originality The food was nothing to scream about. They need real martini glasses. New tables and a little better design scheme overall. Our bartender needs a bonus to come up with a custom cocktail menu, that changes quarterly. I need to start charging for my recommendations to places. Its really quiet and calm in here and if you have a little one like I do who occasionally smacks a spoon really loud on a table, points and screams at passer bys and over all throwing of food, its a really great place to come. There was no one else eating while we had the majority of our visit. Coming back again with baby in tow. *Mom Tip******This place is located in a hotel that you can just walk into and no one says anything. They have a gorgeous koi pond river type thing flowing through the center. For moms out there with little walkers this is a great FREE spot to kill a half hour. As long as your monster is behaved I don't see why anyone would care*

Came here for Happy hour from 5-8am! I love happy hour times that are more extended =) My date and I started out with a glass of chardonnay each for $5. Wines are $5. Well drinks are $6, Margaritas are $7, beers are $4, there's also Long island iced tea for maybe $8? not sure. For food, we got caesar salad for me, house salad for him, crab cakes, gilroy garlic fries, prawn cocktail, and skirt steak. Everything was delicious except for maybe the skirt steak. It can be more tender. All were about $5-$6 each. Service was really good and attentive. Funny how our server said we ordered a buffet. We were in the mood for a lot of food ;) Bill came out to be ~$45. Nice prices! Definitely be back if we're in town! Pretty nice restaurant where you can see the inside of the hotel still. The hotel is one of the nicest place I've been to here near Milpitas.
